"But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." Philippians 3:7-8 ESV
When God’s people suffer, he shows himself in our sufferings. This is true for Job. This is also true for the people of Israel. After Joseph died, they grew in number but they were also forced to be slaves to the Egyptians. Not just for a short time but for more than 400 years. God may have forgotten his promise to give them a land and bless them. But the good news is, God never forgets. And when he chose to act, he does so in a very powerful way.
