Salamat, Paul Armesin, sa gospel reload ng “Sukdulang Biyaya.” Let us pray na marami pang mga Filipino composers at musicians ang mag-produce ng mga doctrinally sound at gospel-centered na mga worship songs.
Meron tayong singing problem, kasi meron tayong worship problem. At kung meron tayong worship problem, meron tayong heart problem. The whole Story of God is the story of God redeeming his people – to be a singing people for him.
We have to spend time to talk about congregational singing. We spend about 25-30 minutes of our worship service in singing. The rest is prayer, Scripture reading, and sermon. But we seldom take time to reflect why we sing and why it matters.
To serve us, to glorify God – ‘yan ang life mission ng Panginoong Jesus. At tayo rin na sinasabing tagasunod niya, yun din ang life mission natin, hindi pwedeng iba, hindi pwedeng to serve ourselves, to glorify ourselves, but to serve others, to glorify God. Jesus came and lived a perfectly righteous life, and died and rose again para ano? To rescue us from ourselves so that we may live for others and for God.
“Flee from idolatry” (1 Cor. 10:14). Run, run away as quick as you can, without hesitation. Responsibility natin ‘yan. Kapag may temptation, hindi mo kakantahan ‘yan, “O tukso layuan mo ako.” No, ikaw ang lalayo at kakaripas ng takbo palayo sa tukso.
God’s people, tayong mga Christians now, must be ready to lay down our lives, make sacrifices, hindi puro personal preferences or convenience or ambition ang iniisip. Na para sa atin, the purpose of God, the mission of God, and the glory of God is more important than anything in this world.
