David: The Scandal of Grace

Ang kuwento ng buhay ni David ay hindi tungkol sa kanya. It points us to Someone greater – much greater – than him. It is the story of Jesus. That’s how we approach every story in the Old Testament. Yan din ang itinuro niyang gawin natin sa pagbabasa natin ng Salita ng Diyos. At dahil tayo ay nakay Cristo, may relasyon sa kanya by faith in him, it is also our story. Pag pag-aaralan natin ang mga kuwento sa buhay ni David, we don’t immediately jump to our lives now and ask, “Ano ang kinalaman niyan sa buhay ko?” No. No. No. Don’t skip the gospel. Don’t bypass Jesus. Tanungin muna natin, “Paano tayo itinuturo nito kung sino si Jesus at kung ano ang ginawa niya para sa atin?” Then, and only then, pwede na nating itanong kung paano natin ito malalapat sa buhay natin. Because Jesus is our Life, not David.
