Pray through God’s Story (Week 1)

Bible reading feeds prayer. Prayer fuels Bible reading.

The Word of God and prayer are two of the most important means of grace God has given his children. This way, we develop our intimacy with God. What I find helpful in my prayer life is praying through Scriptures. That is, taking verses from the Bible and using that when I talk to God. When I pray through Scripture, I know I am praying God’s revealed will. I know I’m bringing delight to his ears when he hears me repeating his word back to him.

Every week, I plan to prepare prayer guides for our church’s prayer meeting. You can also use it for your personal or family prayer time. The Scripture passages are taken from the weekly readings in Read the Bible for Life’s chronological plan.
